Electropolishing Systems also has a full-service aluminum finishing line with more than 60 years of experience providing hard anodizing, clear and color anodizing, Teflon coating, and chromate conversion finishes for aluminum parts.

Many industries utilize anodizing for durability, color stability, ease of maintenance, aesthetics, cost, and health and safety. Since anodizing enhances the natural oxide process, it is safe and does not create any harmful by-products.

Anodizing is an electrochemical process that thickens and toughens the naturally occurring protective oxide. The resulting finish, depending on the process, is second only to the diamond as the hardest substance known to man.
ESI also offers chromate conversion, processed in accordance with MIL-DTL-5541 Type II. Chromate provides increased corrosion resistance while remaining electrically conductive. Chromate provides a strong bonding surface for paint and adhesives and is relatively inexpensive. Depending on the aluminum alloy under treatment, surface conditions, and the type of chromate, this process produces oxide films that vary in color. ESI also offers clear chromate.
